Seeing Christ in Others Since 1821

We gather every Sunday at 11 am. Our goal is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, to walk in his way, and live with love and mercy. We welcome all people. We understand that everyone is on a unique spiritual path, and that our common humanity binds us one to another.

Territorial Acknowledgement

Our location on the historic Carrying Place Trail (Weston Road) reminds us that we meet on the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Petun, Seneca and, most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit. We hope this ancient path will be a symbol of our desire to walk with Indigenous peoples in a spirit of reconciliation and respect.

Outreach at Central

Weston King Neighbourhood Centre operates from a ground-level suite at the church, with a satellite location in Mount Dennis. In recent months, WKNC continues to provide takeaway meals and limited access to showers and laundry. As these services have been implemented, the drop-in staff have worked diligently to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff. In addition to food prepared and served from the centre, a food truck visits on Tuesday, sharing over 100 bags of food per week. Visit wknc.ca for more information.

WAES food bank is also located at Central, with staff and volunteers offering food support to an average of 85 to 100 household each time the food bank is open. This represents 250 to 320 individuals receiving food help twice a week. Food is also sent to Eagle Manor each week to shut in seniors with the help of another friend of Central, Shakespeare in Action. The program operates Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11am, and is closed the first week of each month. Please call 416-247-3737 for more information, or visit waes.ca

Central is also the location of the Central King Seniors Residence, with a mix of market and rent-geared-to-income units. The pandemic has curtailed the active social schedule in the building, but staff and volunteers have been busy checking in on residents, and providing fresh fruit and vegetables for those reluctant to leave the building. Members and friends of Central receive a weekly print-out of the online worship service, and remain connected through our phone tree.

More Information

We are located in the heart of Weston. Once the largest town in what became Metropolitan Toronto, Weston was overtaken by sprawl in the 1950's. We are a mix of urban, suburban and small town. We have been on the same street corner since 1821. See a map: [1]

Our Minister

Our new minister, the Rev. Brad Inglis, will begin his ministry at Central in October 2021. Welcome Brad!
